In a dramatic yet fortunately non-hazardous incident for those on board, an Air France A350 experienced a tail strike while making its descent onto the runway in Toronto, Canada, yesterday. The aircraft, an Airbus A350-900 registered as F-HTYH, was operating on flight AF-356, journeying from Paris Charles de Gaulle in France to Toronto, Ontario, Canada.


The event unfolded as the plane was in the midst of landing on Toronto's runway 24L. Initially, the aircraft encountered a bounce, followed by an increased bank angle, which led to the tail of the plane grazing the runway surface. Despite this unsettling occurrence, the pilots demonstrated commendable skill and composure. They promptly executed a go-around maneuver, reassessing the situation for a second approach.

Approximately 15 minutes later, the pilots successfully landed the plane and navigated it to the designated parking stand without further incident. This proficient handling of the unexpected situation ensured the safety and well-being of everyone on board.
